If you really need them synced, rip the DVD (use Handbrake)-don't forget to burn in captions if you like those for your Riffs. You may be a second off but Disembaudio will chime in and help you fix it. Just download the MP3 and either play it through a Bluetooth speaker (this works fine if you play the MP3, just not through the app), or play it through your phone or laptop on a coffee table or something near the audience.Īs for syncing itself, it is very easy (I don't know why people struggle with it even to the point of downloading pirated ones). Also you can't pause on the app, so you'll be out of sync if you need to pause for any reason. It won't let you hear their opening sketch and depending on the movie it takes a while to start. Maybe I should rip the DVD onto my computer and then play the audio? It takes a long while to sync for openings without dialog, so you miss the first minute or so of jokes (see Twilight).ĭoes anyone here have any suggestions for how they do the Just the Jokes? I'm at a loss. Just setting my phone on a table to play the audio obviously won't work. It doesn't play via Bluetooth for some reason. I've also looked into the RiffTrax app, but that definitely won't work for 2 reasons: That's not optimal, since I'll essentially have audio coming from two sources: 1) the home theater system, and 2) a worse audio system that will be hard to hear. If I use the DVDs, I have to find another way to do the audio, since the DVDs/Blu-Ray will be played through my PS3 (I don't have a disc drive on the computer). The issue: I tried this before with XXX, and the Netflix version of the movie didn't have the same scenes, so the audio kept getting out of sync and I had to pause the move a ton of times and try to figure it out, which took away from the experience. If I used Netflix, I could stream it through my PC and use that same PC for the MP3, making the audio easy (since it'll all come from the same speaker). I have the DVDs/Blu-Rays for all of the options, and many of them are on Netflix as well. I'm going to be showing Twilight and one of the following: Harry Potter, Jurassic Park, or Cloverfield. I'm hosting a Rifftrax party at my house tonight, and I can't for the life of me figure out the best way to handle the audio tracks.
